The Pearl Sub follows the phenomenal global success of the Pearl and Pearl Akoya streaming speakers, sharing the familiar Cabasse spherical form and incorporating the same high resolution streaming capabilities. Containing all the amplification required for a 2.1 system, it has been designed to partner the firm’s iO3, Riga 2 and Baltic 5 speakers and create a complete audio system that looks every bit as good as it sounds.
A down-firing 25cm carbon fibre woofer, with 30mm linear excursion and 1000 watts (RMS) provides an exceptionally deep (14Hz) and dynamic (112dB) bass performance that perfectly partners the point source accuracy of the connected speakers. In addition to the high-power sub amp, the left and right channels each benefit from 300 watt (RMS) power amplifiers and the entire system is calibrated using Cabasse’s patented DEAP and CRCS technologies. These two systems respectively optimise the digital signal according to which speakers are connected to the sub (iO3, Riga 2 or Baltic 5) and provide automatic room correction for the low frequency performance, whatever the listening environment.
The 2.1 system is a complete hi-fi. Its built-in streaming allows the user to connect to the popular music services (Qobuz, Deezer, Spotify, Napster, Tidal, etc.). The Pearl Sub includes digital optical, RCA analogue, Ethernet, USB connectors and Bluetooth to facilitate connection of external sources, such as a turntable or TV, and to access music stored on a network or phone. It integrates perfectly into the Cabasse Stream CONTROL multi-room system and allows playback of all types of audio files: from MP3, AAC and WMA to ultra-high-definition AIFF, FLAC, and ALAC files, whether they are stored on hard disks/computers, streamed from internet radio stations or from the online music services. The high-quality DAC is capable of decoding signals up to 768kHz/32bits.
